Born in Hatfield and raised in Luton, Bedfordshire, I have always been interested in Graphics and Graphic Design from a young age. Attempting to replicate computer game magazine covers and fascinated by typography and stylising my own lettering as well as drawing graphic novels and being a huge fan of the cult comic 2000AD, I was inspired to make it a career choice when I was just 12 years old, having been lucky enough to have my own interpretation of Judge Dredd, titled ‘Judge Birdie’ getting published in one issue of 2000AD. Other interests in Japanese culture and Anime at a young age also began to inspire my own work, and having completed an A-Level in Graphic Design in college, I was all set to go to university.

Unfortunately personal circumstances did not allow me to go, instead putting me in to the work force doing everything from warehouse picking to office administration, then into IT. During this time, I spent my spare time self learning Graphic Design, Web Design and coding until Eventually, I found a lucky break in 2012 when I was hired to be a Graphic Designer for the first time having built up my own portfolio based on flyers and album covers for local bands and other personal projects.

Since then I have worked in many commercial roles as a graphic designer, web designer and also a videographer from teaching myself the skills by running my own youtube channel and a website in conjunction with my passion of building Japanese mecha plastic model kits, or ‘Gunpla’ as it is known.

In 2019 my life changed as I sustained a brain injury after contracting encephalitis. This caused me at only 39 years old, to have a stroke and required weeks of therapy before I could walk and talk again. It also left me with permanent epilepsy which after some time was kept under better control with medication. This left my professional career in disarray and I was forced to take part-time and contract roles in order to support my wonderful wife and 2 children.

In 2021, I decided to take my work freelance to broaden my experiences, and show that despite being disabled, I am am still a confident, capable and creative graphic designer and I love what I do. Since then I have had a steady string of very satisfied local clients, and am looking to expand my customer base and provide the best service I can.
